Integrated Timber Solutions are proud to say we are an ISPM 15 Certified packaging facility. The “International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No.15 was created by the International Plant Protection Convention to address the international shipment of potentially contaminated solid wood products.

At ITS Ltd we understand wood. Knowing the requirements for treating solid wood is important as it can help prevent the inconvenience and cost of having your shipment quarantined at international ports of entry. As well as this, it can help prevent the likes of beetles, termites and pests transferring from other wood onto your wooden pallets.

ISPM 15 Requirements

At ITS Ltd we take the protection and maintenance of wooden materials very seriously. As per the ISPM 15 regulations all solid wood and wood packaging materials over 6mm in thickness must be heated for protection. These wooden packaging materials are heated until their internal temperature reaches 56 degrees celsius.

Fumigation has become a less popular treatment option for wood as this improved process is seen as a more effective way to destroy harmful pests and is better for the environment.

At Integrated Timber Solutions Ltd, we ensure that our products strictly comply with ISPM 15. All of our products are stamped or branded with the internationally recognised IPPC mark.

Moving wood between Britain and Northern Ireland

According to government regulations if you are moving wood from Northern Ireland to the EU you do not need to meet the ISPM15 standards. In saying that, if you are exporting wooden packaging from Britain to Northern Ireland the products must be ISPM 15 approved.

When importing and exporting wooden materials you must check each country’s standards, but it is always best to at least have an ISPM 15 stamp of approval.

Integrated Timber Solutions have you covered when it comes to ISPM 15! We tick all the boxes when it comes to making sure wooden packaging materials can go from country to country without any bother.
