When it comes to timber we know a few things here at ITS…

Treating timber right is important, especially at Integrated Timber Solutions specialises in reusing recycled wood for their pallets.

Moisture-related problems can cost millions in damages each year. Kiln drying is a first step in bringing all wood products to moisture content levels that will be subject to minimal moisture-related damage. Drying wood is essential and there are two effective ways this can be done effectively – Kiln-drying and Air-drying.

What is Kiln-Dried Wood

Kiln-dried wood is ITS’s preferred drying technique for efficient results. Kiln-Dried wood is wood that has been dried using a Kiln Oven. With the Kiln you can control the environment such as temperature, humidity and steam levels for a set period of time. Allowing the wood to dry to the desired moisture.

What is Air-Dried Wood

Air-drying wood is simply leaving the woods exposed to the outdoors to dry. Depending on the type of wood and desired moisture content the air-drying process could take several months to almost a year.

Why Choose ITS for Wood Heat Treatment

At Integrated Timber Solutions we favour Kiln Drying as a form of trying wooden products.

As well as minimising fungus and pests, Kiln Drying helps in increasing your product’s shelf life. Kiln Drying can also reduce the moisture content of your products, making your load lighter. At, Integrated Timber Solutions, we follow all the regulations strictly, and ensure the the pallets and crates are heat treated for 30 minutes at 56°C.
