ITS are proud to be a supplier of ISPM15-certified wooden pallets in Northern Ireland. From our base in Portadown, our team works hard to ensure we produce only the highest quality wooden pallets for our customers. Our loyal customers have acquired many wooden pallets over the years. As ISPM15 heat-treated wood is so important for the environment, we feel it is important to support the environment in all aspects of a business. That’s why we are highlighting the importance of properly recycling your used wooden pallets.

Why do I need to recycle my ISPM15 wooden pallets?

When you recycle, you help the environment. This is what we know. However, we often find that our customers don’t know exactly why we should recycle. Long story short, when you recycle your wooden pallets there is less demand for brand new products. When we produce raw materials such as wood, we reduce the need to cut down trees and use machines to create pallets. Using these machines leads to carbon emissions, and we all know it’s important to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.

How exactly can I recycle my wooden pallets?

It is Summer, after all. That means many of you will be spending more time in the garden, you should make it a nice place to be. There are many ways you can reuse your wooden pallets in the garden. Such as:

  • Build a table. Having a coffee table in the garden is something that you might not think you need, but take it from us: you do. We can’t imagine anything better than having our morning coffee in the garden with a coffee table made from ITS’s wooden pallets.
  • Make a planter. In the interest of helping the environment, the living things around us need somewhere to live. You can use wooden pallets creatively to create a plant pot, and you can even add a screen at the back for climbing plants. Plants need a home, too!
  • Create a corner sofa. For those customers who have a great selection of wooden pallets, this one’s for you. With a helping hand, you will be able to create a brand new seating area for your garden using wooden pallets. With some cushions and comfy blankets, cosy nights in the garden will be your new favourite.

Bring the natural elements into your home

It’s not all about the garden! You can bring some natural elements into your home to reuse your wooden pallets. We love getting creative with our pallets, so we have many suggestions. For example:

  • Create a bookshelf. This is another one to get creative with! Why not use your wooden pallets to create a bookshelf for your home. As our pallets are ISPM15 certified, you can be sure no insects or larvae will be getting into your home. Creating something from scratch, and enjoying the process of making it into something you can look at every day is extremely rewarding. We recommend you give it a try.
  • Wine storage. As a prized possession, your wine deserves a nice home. Wooden pallets can create a lovely place to store your wine. Here, you can have it on display, and you also get the added benefit of showing off your creation to all your dinner party guests.

Recycle those pallets

If you are interested in recycling your wooden pallets, there are many options. Many councils highly recommend that you reuse your pallets to reduce any incurring costs. However, many businesses also offer a buy-back scheme for wooden pallets. This means you can return your wooden pallets to a company that can reuse them over again for their original packaging purpose.
